Sunday afternoons
How do we practice in the midst of everyday life? How do we apply the Dharma to work, love, dating, sex, and the myriad aspects of day-to-day living? How do we practice moment to moment so that the Dharma and our lives are one? If you are new to Buddhism, join us and learn about the teachings and apply them to your life. If you are a more experienced practitioner, join us and deepen your understanding of the teachings while sharing with others your experience with the Dharma. The afternoon starts with a 20 minute meditation period. Brief instruction is offered for those who have not previously had a meditation practice. The meditation period is followed by a break for 10 to 15 minutes of socializing, tea, and snacks. We then come back together for a presentation or discussion. Pre-registration not required. Just show up! Everyday Dharma meets at Issan-ji, the Hartford Street Zen Center
Map of 57 Hartford St San Francisco, CA 94114-2013 We thank Rev. Myo Leahy and the board of directors of Issan-ji, the Hartford Street Zen Center, for their generosity in allowing us to use their zendo. Issan Dorsey, who was the first abbott of the Hartford Street Zen Center, was a pioneer for Zen practice in the gay community. Though we are a non sectarian group, being able to meet in the Zen temple named for him is a wonderful way to honor his continuing influence in our lives. |
